MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang on Monday released the full text of President Benigno Aquino III's sixth State of the Nation Address (SONA), which he again delivered in Filipino.
The address lasted for two hours and 12 minutes, making it the longest SONA of his presidency.
Lucilo Bayron wins Puerto Princesa recall elections

PUERTO PRINCESA, Palawan (2nd UPDATE) - Puerto Princesa Mayor Lucilo Bayron was sustained by voters as he won the recall elections held on Friday.
It was around 6 a.m. on Saturday when the city board of canvassers proclaimed Bayron as the duly elected mayor, with 44,299 votes.
The CBOC dismissed the last ditch petition of former Mayor Edward Hagedorn to stop the canvassing, saying that the grounds cited by the Hagedorn camp are misplaced and do not apply in this case.
Hagedorn had argued that some 11 election returns from clustered precincts should be excluded due to formal defects, but the CBOC said formal defects are not grounds for suspension or exclusion as stated by the Supreme Court in jurisprudence.
Hagedorn finished the vote with 39,002 votes.
Bayron thanked his supporters and everyone who went out to vote during Friday's recall election.

Philippine Airlines

Philippine Airlines, Inc. (abbreviated as PAL and also known historically as Philippine Air Lines) operating as Philippine Airlines, is a flag carrier of the Philippines. Headquartered in the Philippine National Bank Financial Center in Pasay City, the airline was founded in 1941 and is the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia operating under its original name. Out of its hubs at Ninoy Aquino International Airport of Manila and Mactan-Cebu International Airport of Cebu City, Philippine Airlines serves twenty destinations in the Philippines and 26 destinations in Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Asia, Oceania and North America. Formerly one of the largest Asian airlines, PAL was severely affected by the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. In what was believed to be one of the Philippines' biggest corporate failures, PAL was forced to downsize its international operations by completely cutting operations to Europe and eventually Middle East, cutting virtually all domestic services excluding routes operated from Manila, reducing the size of its fleet and terminating the jobs of thousands of employees. The airline was placed under receivership in 1998, gradually restoring operations to many of the destinations it formerly serviced. PAL exited receivership in 2007 with ambitious plans to further its previously serviced destinations, as well as diversify its fleet. Philippine Airlines is the only airline in the Philippines to be accredited with the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Philippine Airlines carried more than 9 million passengers during the 2010-2011 period.

Philippines- The No. 1 Fast Food Chain ,Jollibee keeps Japan in crosshairs of future expansion

Jollibee Foods Corp. is looking at bringing its namesake brand to Japan as part of an aggressive expansion program that now covers Asia and the United States amid the diversified fast food chain's ambition to be a global quick-service restaurant, a ranking official said Friday.
The company has been getting invitations and suggestions to set foot on Japan, CFO Ysmael Baysa revealed to reporters on the sidelines of the 2nd International Symposium on Service Industry organized by Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Makati City.
"We already have presence in Japan with Pho24. But for the Jollibee brand, we're still studying it," he said.
"We want to see what can we offer the Japanese, whether they will like our food. You see, in Japan it's very competitive," Baysa noted.
In 2011, Jollibee formed a 50-50 joint venture with SuperFoods Group to operate Highlands Coffee and Pho24.
However, it may take some time before Jollibee formally enters the Japanese market in view of other expansion possibilities, the Jollibee official clarified.
"We have so many other opportunities. There's China, US," he said.
Last June, Jollibee said it wants to grow its US presence by acquiring a quick-service restaurant to take advantage of the strong demand from American consumers. The company is also keeping an eye on China because of the enormity of its consumer market.

'Large in ASEAN'
In August, Jollibee officials said they aim to bring various brands to Malaysia and Indonesia in light of the 2015 ASEAN single market.
By 2015, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) sets in motion the creation of a single market spanning the 10-nation bloc.
ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
So far, Jollibee has stores in Vietnam, Singapore and Brunei.
Jollibee's growing presence in ASEAN markets will help the company penetrate Japan's market, JETRO director-in-charge of service industry Hironobu Kitagawa said in a separate interview.
"Jollibee company is a large-scale company in Philippines, but Japanese do not know Jollibee because it has not accessed the Japanese market," he said.
"But now, we know Jollibee is large in ASEAN market," he added, noting, if only Japanese companies have an idea about the Philippine company, new partnerships, new business opportunities can be established even in the Philippines
